First I could tell you about the flight. The night before departure I received an email telling that there’s another girl coming on the same plane to the same place. We texted each other and met at the airport. The plane was late for an hour or so, but with her the time went pretty nicely. She also became my roommate.
A Spanish man sat next to me, since the plane had 6 seats in a row. He started talking to us, with his funny English accent. He was very nice and polite.
After the flight he showed us how to get on the train that would take us to Seville. No Finnish guy would do that to complete strangers. :D
We saw a rainbow from the train :D
Seville is a very beautiful city. Very different from Finland. Some pics:
Here's a part of Giralda, the world's largest Gothic temple.
We were very tired that night, but we got a tour around the apartment. We have 5 Finnish and 2 Lithuanian girls living here.
Some pics from our room...
That night I was feeling very tired and maybe a bit depressed – I wondered if this was a good idea after all. But I felt a lot better the next day. We got a tour around the city with this another girl, Mia, who also lives in the apartments. We went shopping and stuff.
A cute candy shop we saw :)
Damn my feet hurt that night. I slept like a baby.
On Wednesday I started work. I was terrified, because I heard my work hours would be from 9 AM to 8 PM. Yes, there is a 2 hour siesta in between, but still. It’s very hard. We don’t have time to go home to sleep or do anything else with this other girl, Suvi, who’s also working in the same company for the summer. She works in a different department, but yeah… We’ve tried to arrange it so that we could have only a 30 min break instead of 2 hours. I really hope that could happen, since I’m always so tired by the time we’re supposed to leave. I have energy until 7 PM, but the last hour is just impossible.
On the first day I didn’t have anything to do, so it felt like the longest day ever.
The second day was better, I got a task. I’m doing an “intro” for the company to use. I’m not completely sure what they want, but I guess I’ll find out. :D
I’ve noticed some funny things during this time. They make the day better. Like the soap at work, it smells so good. Like.. tutti frutti or something. The man who I work with looks like he’s jamming all the time, his head goes up and down a lot. Orange (or whatever they are) trees in the middle of the city…
The man at work who has a very, very tight body (and clothes)…
We are kinda counting the names with my roommate, Anne-Mari. How many people have the same names etc. So far I’ve met Juan, Jose, Lucas… We’ll see!
The girls in the apartments are very nice, though one doesn’t speak much… But I have a lot of fun with Suvi on the work days. We have very similar tastes and we think alike. It’s so nice to have someone like that here! Also my roommate is very.. I don’t know, familiar? Kinda like I’ve met someone like her before.. Oh well, she’s calm and nice, so pretty good to live with. Though she’ll be here only for 2 months, so I don’t know who’ll share the room with me after that…
Now it's saturday, we've had some problems with the internet, but it's working now. On Monday we don't have work = YAY! So I have a long weekend, and only 82 days at work xD
Yes, I'm counting.
Today it was raining and we went to this shopping centre. I bought red shorts
and a couple of jumpers (which is kind of weird, because it's going to be a very hot summer). But they were cheap and I really need those for the winter. We're also going to celebrate a little for the May Day today.. or tomorrow? I don't know when the others want to do it.
Hm, I don't know what to tell, because there's so much I could talk about. :D
So maybe I'll leave it like this for now. :)
