Day 97: museums and happiness

So today we went to check some museums here in Sevilla. They were pretty nice, especially the Archeological museum.

This was amazing. It was a huge mosaic. The whole picture was made from these small rocks.. or whatever they were. There were a couple similar artworks. Just beautiful. I wish I had the patience to do something like that :)

On our way to the museums there was this area where you could pay a little to get something to feed the birds... To be honest, I was afraid of them. :'D So I stayed far... We actually met two guys we had met a couple of weeks ago, and we talked for a little while. They're very sweet, both of them. :) (the other has a British accent, which is awesome!)

After visiting the museums and walking for a long time we were very tired and hungry. So we stopped by our favourite Cervecería, 100 Montaditos. :D I always order this salad. It tastes so good.

Saw this in some pillar or something and decided that it says just what I want to say about how I feel right now.

Day 96: sunset

I don't have much to tell about these couple of days. I didn't work much, but managed to write my travel report.. And almost finished my internship report as well. I feel happy about myself :D Though I did get a new task today... It made me happy! Because it's a new challenge.
I've only got 3 weeks left at work... Feels a bit strange! I've been here for so long already! 14 weeks...
I checked what I've written in my blog, and realised that I've done a lot of nice things. Good. I don't have to regret anything. :D
But I still have time to do the things I want, so I shouldn't be too worried about not having done everything.

Aanyway, look what we found in the trash...

Today me and Suvi went to the river to watch the sunset. Before getting there we bought some McFlurries again :D Awesome yet again, as you can see:

I felt at peace sitting there. The warm wind felt good on my skin. Usually it's just too hot. It seems the wind at the river is cooler and smells good.

And a couple of other pics from the place... They're a bit crooked, but I hope it doesn't matter. I don't feel like fixing them right now.

Tomorrow we were planning to go to some museums with Suvi. Hopefully they're nice :D

Day 94: almost there

I'll put some random pictures I've taken during my time here, so it's a bit more interesting to look at :'D

I think I've finally accepted that I'm here. I'm not feeling as.. how should I say it... Well, I think you get it. I'm fine with me being here. Work is work, but after that I can rest. Weekends are usually awesome, which makes up for every hour I have to be at work.
I'm still a bit jealous of the other girls, since they might work just 2h/day. No, I wouldn't want that to myself (it would get boring!), but 9 hours is a biiiit too much.
The funny thing is that now I'm finally used to this, and I'll be leaving in a month. :D

I haven't had much work this week. I have pretty much finished my last one, and I haven't gotten a new one. So, I've just read a lot. I've been reading other blogs. They're pretty interesting! I've concentrated on blogs about Japan, because I've been there before. That way it's nicer to read, because I've experienced similar things and reading makes me remember.
Now I wish my blog has been at least a bit entertaining to someone. It would be nice if someone is bored and wants to read a blog, and finds their way here.. :D Even after years. That'd be cool.

It's funny to see Spanish men wearing their suits and driving a scooter. Or riding a bike! It's somewhat cute. I hope I'll manage to take a picture of one... I still have a month left, hopefully I'll see one with my camera close enough to take a picture.

Talking about taking pictures, I think I should start carrying my camera with me once again. When I got here I took it everywhere for a couple of weeks, but then got annoyed at carrying it around. Now that I only have a month left.. I should take pictures of everything. Well.. not everything, but... Interesting things!

I've started to plan my Málaga trip. I´ve been looking at possible places to visit and everything... I won't say anything at this point, since my plans might change. But it's nice to finally plan a little bit. I've been waiting for this vacation for so long, and now it's so close (and yet so far..)!
It seems I'm going to have to spend a loot of money there... :D

Today I went to 100 Montaditos again. Some people are leaving this week, so I think I saw them for the last time. Though I haven't really talked with them much anyways..
Oh.. and I wrote my travel report today. I haven't had any work to do... So I figured I should do something useful. So I wrote that. Now I've done one of the school things. :D

(Someone had carved this on the wall in Giralda, on the way to the tower.. they're my first letters :D)

Day 92: cloudy day? not.

When I stepped out of our apartment doors, I realised it was kind of a cool morning. Almost chilly. And I couldn't see the sun! There were loots of clouds, and it seemed like it could rain. It was a bit misty and humid.

However, when I went out during lunch break... The sun is shining. But the humidity isn't gone.
So, at 3PM it's 30°C and humid. Niice. Can't wait for my work to end. It'll be even hotter. :/
Oh well, good thing I have ice cream in the freezer :D

OOH, and today it's 3 months since I got here. Only 1 more and I'm home!


Btw. Spanish people like to whistle.
They don't care who hears. They just whistle.

Day 91: Real Alcázar

I've been pretty social in the apartment this weekend! We spend a nice evening with the other 3 Finnish girls that live here. I usually don't spend much time in the living room, but this time I did. It was fun!

I don't have much to tell about my visit to the palace. I went there alone, so I could just wander there without worrying about my company. :'D
The amount of detail is just insane. And the park/garden was huge.

It was a cool day, not too hot. And in the park it was even cooler, because of all the shadows. It was sooo nice for a change.

This room was amazing. The roof was very interesting... and pretty much everything in that room was too.


Yesterday we (me, Suvi and Marianna) spent the evening in the living room again. Hanna was in Utrera (some other interns live there) in a goodbye party. We didn't feel like going, so we had our own fun.
We talked about a lot of things. And watched a movie that was on.. I think it was called 88 Minutes? Not really my type of a movie.
But I had a nice time.

Only 4 weeks at work left. I shall make it! :D

Day 89: I wish I spoke Spanish

This week has been a bit.. I don't know. I've been working, and the days have went ok.
It's now friday and I only have 4 weeks left at work. That's pretty much, but not really that much, considering that I've been here for almost 13 weeks now.

On monday I had to reload my metro card. I went to the machine and put the money there like usually.. But I think I took the card away too early, because it didn't let me through the doors! Then I talked with the guard or whatever. I said I don't speak Spanish, and we tried hard to communicate with each other. I actually understood pretty much everything he tried to say, but I couldn't answer.. It was frustrating. But I got him to understand that I just reloaded the card, and he called another person (called me señorita!). Then he also came and opened the machine, and they saw that yes, a moment ago there had been a reload. I just waited after that. The other guy called someone else, and then did something to another machine, so it spat money out. :P Then he re-reloaded my card...
After that he asked me to come to sign the receipt...
This time it ended happily. But for a moment I was really worried I had just lost my 42€.

On tuesday after work me and Suvi decided to go buy McFlurries from McDonald's. The same hot guy from our previous visit was there again, and there was also another! They were sooo handsome. We got M&M and Tazza sauce in the ice cream... It was pure heaven. Saved the day!

Wednesday was 100 Montaditos day again. I went there, but didn't really enjoy myself that much. I ate the food and left.

Yesterday I was really homesick, once again. I think I had a dream where I was with my family. Then at some point I really missed mom. :) Even though it's been only less than 3 weeks since I saw her last time! (Ok, I've talked with them in skype, but that's not really the same)
But luckily I didn't suffer from it for too long. The end of the day went pretty much ok, after the insane homesickness went away.
After work I watched the movie version of "1 Litre of Tears". It was ok, but I prefer the series.

Oh yeah, I had two name days this week. :D Bought cookies to celebrate them. Ooh and my roommate's friend won't sleep over anymore.. I talked about it with her (in facebook), and she understood.

Tomorrow I was planning to go see the Alcázar. More about it on sunday!

Day 84: Giralda

I finally went to the cathedral! It was huge. And filled with details. Oh dear it was so awesome. I kinda want to go there again, because my artistic self was happy there.
I don't have much to tell about it, but do have some pictures! I'm sorry about the quality.. It was so dark there so it was a bit difficult to get good pictures.

Then we went to the tower to see what was there. It was nice to see the city from there. You can also see the bullfight arena!

Oh, afterwards I went to C&A to see if there was any clothes to shop :'D
There was! :D I'm happy.

Last night I didn't sleep. I don't know if it was because of the full moon or something, but I just couldn't.. I also am a bit annoyed how my roommate brings her friend to sleep over all the time... Once in two weeks or something is fine, but she'se been here 4 times this week.
I think I'll tell them that I don't want her to sleep here anymore.. It's just too bad I'm such a shy person, and I usually just take everything as it comes, without complaining even if I want to. :P It's a bit hard to say it to them, but maybe I'll find a way.

Day 82: More people leaving

Hiya!
This week has been eventful, which is why I'm writing now, and probably will write more on sunday.

On tuesday we couldn't start working until 9:30, because the lock system (uses fingerprints) was broken. Everyone went to a nearby 'cafe'. Me and Suvi drank ice tea. It's been a loong time since I last drank ice tea.. It tasted sooo good.

I also saw a rat (or something similar) this week. And today we saw a dead cat. It was grey and had its eyes open... Poor cat. I wonder what killed it. It was close to the road, but I don't know, it didn't look like a car had hit it.

My new roommate is nice, she's smiling a lot. :) Her friend sleeps over a lot, though. :P It's not really allowed, but I'm not going to complain. It's not that much of a deal, I guess. Only when they come back very late which makes me wake up :D

On Wednesday was that 1€ day in 100 Montaditos again. We went, because Mia was going to leave Sevilla soon. We met new people! They were two gay guys, one was Spanish and the other was from Britain. Then there was a very pretty and cute Italian guy. He was so cute and shy~
The gay guys were fun. The British one was kinda a stereotypical gay guy :'D
Oh well, we ate a bit and then went back home with Suvi. Though a random man ran after us saying that he and his cousin wanted us to join them for a drink ("It can be coke, water, anything!"), but we were tired and he looked a bit too old.. Too bad!

Oh, I also got a new project at work! Did I tell about it? It's going to be a flash banner in their site...
Yesterday I had a bad day at work. My actionscript wasn't working at all! I was in a bad mood, but then after work Mia invited me to go to "the last supper".
So we went. A guy who the others knew (also an intern, I think) works in the restaurant we went to..
I got some beef with sweet mustard sauce. It was good. But what was awesome was the desserts. We ordered cheesecake and some lemon meringue pie.. and the guy gave us one extra, it was banoffee (bananas, caramel, some kind of cookie-kind of thing at the bottom). I was in heaven. I really want to go there again. Even if only for the dessert. xD All of them were so gooood.
After that Mia left..
It's a bit funny, because she was here when we came... She showed me and Anne-Mari the city and everything... Oh and she's also a football player :D We had something in common. Have a picture of us being in that Sevilla - Real Madrid match :D

Apparently a guy is going to move to her room! I wonder how that will turn out to be...

Today we (me and Suvi) went shopping again after work. :D Before that we went to McDonald's.. There was a good looking guy working. :D Where do these guys come from these days?
I bought something again, but they're again not summer clothing.. Sigh.

I'm pretty sure I forgot something, but I guess I'll just stop here. I forgot to take my camera, so I haven't been taking any pictures...

Day 77: new roommate

I'm back in Spain!

This week was kinda a lazy one at work. I didn't do much. I need to speed up next week!
Only 6 weeks at work left :D I can do iit~

I'll tell something about my travelling day first. At first I had to take a bus to Helsinki-Vantaa airport. There everything went nicely, and I got to the plane..
I had to transfer flights in Brussels. The thing was, the flight taking me to Madrid was delayed. It wouldn't have mattered much, but I didn't have much time to go to the next plane, from Madrid to Sevilla. So, when I was still in the plane, it was time for the next plane to depart. That made me very stressed and frustrated. Also a man behind me was drunk. He sang the same line over and over again from a song. I wanted to hit him.
Good thing the next flight was delayed, too... I got there in time.
I was extremely tired when I was in the third plane. It was midnight at that time.. But I couldn't sleep, because I was going crazy from all the sitting. So I watched the cities below us. It was very pretty! I wish I would've taken my camera with me...
The taxi driver didn't know where my apartment was, so I tried to help him without a mutual language. :'D Well, I did get there... It costed 10€ more than when I went to the airport, which was a bit strange.
In the end I forgot to ask for a receipt, which I had planned on trying to ask for.. I would've needed one for the insurance company.
I never ever want to transfer flights that many times, if it's not necessary x__x

This week I watched this Japanese drama called 1 Litre of Tears. I recommend it to everyone. It's based on a diary written by Kitō Aya. It's about a girl coping with her teenage life along with a degenerative disease. I really recommend the series, because it makes you think. Health is not something everyone has, you know. It's a very touching story.
Ok, back to this week.

On friday me and Suvi went to eat to a Japanese restaurant.

We both ordered chicken teriyaki. It was so goooood. I really want to go there again. For dessert we got some tea. It was pretty good! At least the cups were really cute.
I wanted to speak Japanese to the waiter&waitress, but I was too shy.. Maybe next time?
After that we bought some ice cream. And theen watched a couple of episodes of Pokémon :D

Yesterday we went shopping. I finally found something! I bought a red t-shirt and this black bolero-kind-of thing. I'm happy that I finally got something. :'D
Aaand we ate Ben&Jerry's ice cream. Awesomely good as always.
Oh, and the people in Spain don't really get Suvi's name. :'D 100 Montaditos (this restaurant we usually go to) has this system where they take names that they call when the order is ready. One time they wrote it Subi, which is almost ok. :'D But this time..


Today I cleaned the room, and did the laundry.. So I figure I'm allowed to be lazy for the rest of the day.
Also, I'll be getting a new roommate today. She'll probably come here at 8. I'm a bit scared. It's always a bit hard to learn how to live with another person. Everyone has different habits etc... Oh well, it's only for 6 weeks, so I think I'll manage just fine. :) I usually get along fine with people, but you never know!

Day 70: Finland

Yeah, I'm writing this in Finland.

I came here to my grandma's funeral for a few days. It's nice to see my family. :) And the summer of Finland! I love it so much. I wish I could stay here but I need to go back. It's ok, since I haven't done everything I could in Spain yet. But I prefer Finnish nature... It's so nice and green.

The week at work was short, only 3 days. It went ok. On Wednesday I suddenly got a new task, which I had to finish that day, because they need it tomorrow. :'D I was so busy that day! I didn't have time to do anything else, I had to start working before my lunch break was even over.. Luckily I finished it. I just hope they were happy with the result...

On Thursday I woke up at 4. At five I saw the temperature in Seville: 27°C! At five. In the morning.
Then I traveled for the whole day.. On Friday was the funeral.
Yesterday we did some nice things. We went to visit my other grandma. It was a nice and sunny day, so we swam, too. Ate ice cream with strawberries... Oh, we also bought new bikini with my sister, because we didn't have any swimming suits here. :)
Then in the evening we finished the nice day with sauna.

Today the weather is not as sunny, but I still like it. It's windy and the wind smells like rain. So nice... Also it's cool! I'm not feeling too hot all the time. :'D I'm a bit afraid of going back to Seville, because it's so hot in there..

But at least there's something good about doing the internship in Spain. I've lost about 2kg :'D
